PARTNERSThe network

A card is only worth the forecourts that take it.

Kappagee Fleet runs on other people’s infrastructure — the stations that dispense the fuel, the trackers on the vehicles, and the rails that move the money. This is who they are and how the arrangement works.

01Fuel stations

The station keeps the forecourt. We handle the paperwork.

A partner station takes fleet cards at the pump, gets paid daily against completed transactions, and never chases a fleet customer for money — the platform is the counterparty.

Brands operating in our markets that the network is built around. Independents are welcome on the same terms — the platform does not care whose sign is on the canopy.

What a station gets

Every transaction

Each authorization and completion at your pumps, with the vehicle, the driver, the litres and the amount.

Settlement

Daily and monthly summaries, what has been paid, and what is still owed.

Wet stock & shifts

Tank dips, shift cash and the variance between metered sales and what was declared.

Disputes

Raise a discrepancy against a settlement and it becomes a ticket with the transactions attached.

The POS app runs on a tablet, scans a card or a QR code from the driver’s phone, authorizes in under a fifth of a second, records the litres actually dispensed and prints a receipt. When the line drops it authorizes against cached rules, stores the sale locally and syncs on reconnect, flagged for review.

02Settlement

Daily, against completed transactions, to an account we have verified.

Run

A settlement run totals the completed transactions at your station for the period and raises a payout. Authorized-but-never-completed transactions are not in it — you are paid for fuel that left the pump.

Commission

Kappagee takes a commission per transaction, agreed with you and held on your station record. Your net is what the payout pays.

Account

Bank or mobile money. A newly nominated account is unverified until Kappagee checks it, and settlement will not pay an unverified account — the one control that stops a payout being redirected by anyone who gets into a portal.

Dispute

Raise it from the portal against the settlement in question. It becomes a support ticket with the underlying transactions attached rather than an email thread.

03Hardware

Trackers we already speak, and a way in for the ones we don’t.

Devices are read through an adapter layer, so supporting another unit is a piece of software rather than a fleet-wide replacement. Dual-SIM units are the norm here, and the platform expects them.

MakerModelsWhy it is on the list

ConcoxGT06 · ET25The workhorses of the region — inexpensive, widely serviceable, dual-SIM.
QueclinkGV300 · GV500Where longer buffers and sturdier power handling are needed.
GenericNMEA and binary unitsAn adapter can be written for a unit already on the vehicles rather than replacing a fleet.

Bound to one vehicle

A device binds to a vehicle by IMEI, one at a time, and every swap stays on the record — so history follows the vehicle rather than the hardware.

Buffered by design

Units store and forward through a coverage gap. Positions are reconciled to the device clock, not to when they arrived, so a buffered trip is still the trip that happened.

Tamper is an event

A disconnected or opened unit raises an alert of its own. So does a vehicle that moves with the ignition off — the signature of a tow.

04Payment rails

The rails people here actually use.

Mobile Money is not an alternative payment method in this region — for most operators it is the payment method. Top-ups and payouts run on callbacks, made idempotent by the provider's own transaction id, so a repeated callback cannot credit a wallet twice.

Wallets hold a balance in the account’s own currency, and money is stored in minor units as whole numbers — never as a decimal that can drift. Settlement payouts to station partners run over bank transfer or mobile money.

05Technology

What the platform speaks to.

Google Maps

Vector basemaps, geocoding and road ETAs, with OpenStreetMap as the offline and low-bandwidth fallback.

Africa’s Talking · Twilio

SMS for alerts and one-time codes, because a push notification needs data and an SMS does not.

Firebase Cloud Messaging

Push to the driver, technician and POS apps.

QuickBooks

A built connector: sync, account mapping and an export for the ledger, so finance is not retyping.

Your own systems

Scoped API keys, webhooks with signed payloads, and SCIM provisioning from your identity provider.

06Become a partner

Four steps, and the fuel is flowing.

Station onboarding is deliberately ours to do. It creates a counterparty we settle with, records the account that counterparty is paid into, and widens where fleet cards work — none of which should be self-service.

  1. 01

Kappagee registers the station: brand, address, GPS position, the fuel types you carry and the contacts who run it. Provisioning sits with us rather than with a fleet customer, because a station is a counterparty we settle with — not a row a customer should be able to create for itself.

  2. 02

A 200 m approved-fuelling zone is drawn around your pumps automatically. It is the same zone the authorization engine checks a vehicle against, so fleet cards work at your forecourt and are flagged away from it.

  3. 03

You nominate a payout account — bank or mobile money. It stays unverified, and unpayable, until Kappagee verifies it. Settlement only ever pays a verified account.

  4. 04

POS credentials go to the station manager, and each member of staff who needs the portal gets their own login, scoped to your station and nothing else.
